About Jurga
Born in 1977 in Utena, Lithuania, Jurga now lives in a village near Vilnius. She has been sculpting since the age of eight. After studying at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, she opened her studio and began exhibiting in galleries, salons and international art fairs. Her work is represented in Europe, the United States and Dubai.
Her poetic world explores simplicity, emotion and the relationships between people. The forms are soft, often generous, and the patinas delicate. A glance or a posture gives each figure its distinctive presence.
Jurga models her works in clay before they are cast in bronze by her foundry. Each bronze is produced in an edition of eight, with four artist’s proofs.
