Jean-Pierre Rossignol, learn more about the artist
Jean-Pierre Rossignol, born in 1938, is an intaglio engraver and figurative painter. Trained at the Estienne school (class of 1953–1957), he studied engraving, drawing, and painting with Albert Flocon, a student of Paul Klee. His work, demanding and precise, finds in the burin technique an art of rigor and meditation. Winner of several prizes (Engraving, Watercolor – Académie de Lutèce), he exhibits at the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Artistes Français, as well as in galleries and international triennials. His works are present in numerous private collections in France and abroad (United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland). Rossignol pursues a sober, patient body of work, with clean and controlled lines—between balance and perseverance.
